This Privacy Policy outlines our practices concerning the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use the Shopify App Intelligence Chrome Extension ("Extension"). Our extension strictly complies with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies.

2. Data We Collect and Why

The Extension relies on specific permissions to function correctly. We only request the absolute minimum permissions needed.

  • activeTab: Used exclusively when the user clicks the extension icon to analyze the Document Object Model (DOM) of the current Shopify store for tech stack detection. The data analyzed is strictly limited to identifying third-party apps, scripts, and theme metadata.
  • storage (local): We store minimal usage data (e.g., number of "Free AI Funnel Audits" generated) solely to manage the Freemium limitation mechanism locally on your device. We do not store personally identifiable browsing history.
  • scripting: Required to inject the isolated content script into the active tab to execute the DOM detection securely without relying on remote code.
  • host permissions (*.myshopify.com): Allows automatic background detection when navigating between Shopify domains, and enables fetching public products.json or sitemap.xml data explicitly for generating the AI Funnel Playbook logic when initiated by the user.

3. How Your Data Is Used

The information gathered from the active tab is parsed strictly to provide you with insights about a store's technology stack and marketing funnels. The summarized data is securely sent to our Edge Backend integration temporarily, exclusively for generating the markdown "Funnel Playbook" response using an AI pipeline. This payload contains public store URLs, generic site maps, and component structure, not your personal browsing information.

4. Single Purpose Policy

The singular purpose of this extension is to provide users with competitive Shopify store analysis and actionable e-commerce intelligence. We do not collect, use, or sell your data for targeted advertising, credit profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the core function of the extension.

5. Data Sharing & Security

Your personal data is not sold to third parties. Subscription and payment processing relies fully on external PCI-compliant third parties (e.g., PayPal), and we do not see or store your billing details.
