Privacy Policy

Short version: Dopamodoro does not collect your data. Everything you do — your tasks, focus sessions, journal entries, settings — stays on your device. We have no servers. We cannot see your information.

This policy explains in detail what data is involved when you use Dopamodoro's Chrome extension and Android app.

1. Who we are

Dopamodoro is a product of TigerBrandsGlobal. We are the data controller responsible for any data handling described in this policy.

2. What data Dopamodoro stores (all on your device)

When you use Dopamodoro, the following information is created and stored only on the device where the app is installed:

• Timer settings (durations, auto-start preferences, sound and notification preferences)
• Your task list (titles, notes, subtasks, priorities, completion status)
• Your session journal (start times, durations, categories, tasks worked on)
• Goals (the categories you create or use)
• Your North Star goal (if set)
• Gamification state (level, experience, tomato counter, streak count, achievement progress)
• Premium activation status (if applicable)

This data never leaves your device. It is stored using your browser's chrome.storage.local (extension) or Android's SharedPreferences (mobile app). We do not operate any backend servers that receive or process this data.

3. What we explicitly do NOT collect

• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any identifier
• We do not collect your IP address
• We do not collect device identifiers
• We do not collect your browsing history or website data
• We do not collect crash reports or analytics
• We do not use cookies for tracking
• We do not use any third-party advertising networks
• We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, none)
• We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any data with anyone

4. Optional features and external services

4.1 Feedback via email

When you use the "Send feedback" feature, the app opens your own email client (e.g., Gmail, Outlook) with a pre-filled draft to support@tigerbrandsglobal.com. You control what is sent. We receive only what you choose to send. This is not data we collect — it is data you actively send to us.

4.2 AI Coach (Chrome extension Pro feature, optional)

The Chrome extension's Pro tier includes an optional AI Coach feature. When enabled, this feature requires you to provide your own OpenAI API key, which is stored locally on your device only. When you send a message to the coach, your browser sends the message and a compact summary of your session statistics directly to api.openai.com using your key. This communication is between your browser and OpenAI — we are not involved and do not have access to your conversations. Use of OpenAI's service is governed by OpenAI's privacy policy. If you do not enable this feature, no external network calls occur.

4.3 Local notifications (Android)

The Android app uses your device's built-in notification system to alert you when a focus session ends. Notifications are scheduled and fired locally on your device. No information is transmitted to us or any third party.

4.4 Payments (when Pro tier is offered)

If you choose to subscribe to Dopamodoro Pro, payments are processed entirely by the payment provider (Google Play Billing for Android, PayPal for the Chrome extension). We do not receive or store your payment card details. Please review the respective privacy policies of these providers.

5. Children's privacy

Dopamodoro is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (US) or under 16 (EU/UK). Because we do not collect personal information from any user, this is automatically satisfied.

6. Your rights

6.1 Right to access, correct, or delete your data

Because all your Dopamodoro data is stored on your device, you have complete control over it at all times:

• Access: Open the app and you see everything we store.
• Correct: Edit tasks, sessions, goals, and notes directly in the app.
• Delete: Use the "Clear" features in the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything permanently. Uninstalling Dopamodoro deletes 100% of your Dopamodoro data from your device.
• Export: The Chrome extension offers a JSON export of your journal under Journal → Export.

6.2 Right to withdraw consent

Because we do not process any personal data, no consent is in place to withdraw. You may stop using Dopamodoro at any time by uninstalling.

6.3 Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe we have violated your privacy rights, you may contact your local data protection authority. In the EU, you may also contact your national supervisory authority.

7. Data location and transfers

Because no data is collected by us, no data transfers occur. Your data remains on the device you are using. If you have enabled the optional AI Coach feature, data exchanged with OpenAI is subject to OpenAI's data handling, which may include transfer to the United States.

8. Permissions used by the app

Chrome Extension

• storage — to save your settings, tasks, journal, and progress on your device
• alarms — to reliably fire timer completion events even when the popup is closed
• notifications — to display desktop notifications when a session ends
• windows — to open the "Session Complete" celebration window after a Pomodoro
• host_permissions: api.openai.com — used only when the AI Coach is enabled, to send your messages to OpenAI using your own API key

Android App

• Local storage (no special permission required) — to save your settings, tasks, journal, and progress on your device
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — to show notifications when a focus session ends
• VIBRATE — for optional haptic feedback on session events

9. Security

Because we do not collect or transmit your data, the only security boundary is your device itself. Standard device security (passcode, biometric lock) protects your Dopamodoro data. We recommend keeping your operating system and browser up to date.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this page for at least 30 days. Continued use of Dopamodoro after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
