Privacy Policy

The short version: ConvertIQ collects no personal data, has no backend server, and stores nothing outside your own browser. The extension analyzes pages exclusively via OpenAI's API. That's it.
1. Information Collection
ConvertIQ ("we," "us," or "our") is a Chrome browser extension that analyzes SaaS landing pages for conversion rate optimization (CRO).
ConvertIQ is designed from the ground up to collect no personal information. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any account information
- Your browsing history or the URLs of pages you visit
- Your IP address or location
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
ConvertIQ has no backend server that receives or stores your data.
2. Information Handling
When you explicitly click "Analyze This Page," ConvertIQ extracts the following data from the current active tab:
- Extracted page content: headline, subheadings, button text, meta description, and a text sample
- Structural signals: whether the page has testimonials, pricing sections, FAQ, trust badges, etc.
ConvertIQ requests only the minimum permissions required to function, such as activeTab and storage. It does not run passively or scan pages automatically. Content scripts are only injected upon your explicit click.
3. Information Storage
All temporary data is stored exclusively in your browser using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. It never leaves your device (except as described in Section 4):
- Audit results cache — CRO analysis results are cached for 24 hours per URL to avoid redundant API calls
- Daily usage count — a counter that resets each day
- User plan status — "free" or "pro," stored locally
You can clear all locally stored data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome.
4. Information Sharing
Because we do not have a backend server, we do not collect, sell, or share your data with any advertisers or third-party brokers.
The only external transmission occurs when you click "Analyze This Page." The extracted page data is transmitted directly from your browser to OpenAI's API (api.openai.com) on your behalf to perform the CRO analysis. ConvertIQ never sees, stores, or logs this data.
OpenAI's handling of data sent to their API is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
5. Website Analytics & Payments
This website (convertiq.app) does not use any analytics, tracking pixels, or cookies beyond what is technically required to serve the pages.
If you upgrade to ConvertIQ Pro, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store or handle your payment card information.
